APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE:

  • Rejoinee and Police Professional Mobility Courses are conducted intermittently, subject to availability of training resources.
  • Any Rejoinee or Police Professional Mobility applicant who, once employed, is required to attend court regarding a matter from their original policing jurisdiction must do so in their own time. The NSW Police Force is under no obligation to accommodate a matter outside of its jurisdiction, nor is the NSW Police Force obliged to meet any incurred costs.

Initial Screening

The procedures involved in assessing your suitability for employment will include assessments of present and previous medical and employment history, together with checks on criminal and traffic history. Information regarding your previous service along with Internal Affairs records will be also considered.

Testing

You may be required to undergo a panel interview. You will be required to complete a medical assessment and, if you are found to be medically fit, you will be required to undertake physical testing. Applicants not currently employed in a policing role will also be required to undergo psychometric testing. You must pass both of these tests. Please be aware that physical testing standards for Rejoinees and Police Professional Mobility applicants differ to pre-screening standards for Professional Suitability applicants. Click on the link to 'physical testing' for more information.

Please note, for former confirmed constables of the NSW Police Force (category 1) ONLY, upon successful employment in the NSW Police Force the organisation will bear the costs associated with medical testing and First Aid training. The medical costs are limited to the initial Recovre pre-employment medical assessment consultation fee and exclude specialist reports that may be required from time to time. The First Aid training costs are those equivalent to the Senior First Aid course including the Laerdal Mask. It is the applicant's responsibility to, upon employment with the NSW Police Force, tender all medical receipts to the General Manager, NSW Police Force Recruitment Branch for reimbursement. Any further expenses must be met by the applicant.
