How To Apply
Applying for a NSW Government job may be different from applying for a job elsewhere.
A resume alone is not enough to apply for an Administrative Officer vacancy. All applications must include:
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae: Your resume or curriculum vitae should include details of your skills, education and employment history (starting with your most recent employer and include job title, major duties and responsibilities); and
- Response to Selection Criteria: How you address the selection criteria is the most important component of your application.
Responding to Selection Criteria
Your responses to the selection criteria are the most important part of your application. The selection criteria is used by the panel to assess your application. Make a separate heading for each criterion and provide examples that demonstrate your skills, experience and ability to meet the selection criteria. If your application does not address each criterion, you reduce your chance of being short listed for interview.
Provide relevant examples of what you have done, how well you did it, what you achieved and how it relates to the position. Simply stating you meet the selection criteria is not sufficient; statements must be supported by evidence relevant to each selection criterion.
Any queries about the position you are applying for should be directed to the contact officer listed in the advertisement.
Useful information is available on the Department of Premier and Cabinet website - www.dpc.nsw.gov.au - Public Sector Workforce Information.
