Sydneysiders are being invited to an Open Day at Western Sydney Parklands this Saturday (14 October 2017) between 10am and 3pm.
Fairfield Local Area Commander, Detective Superintendent Peter Lennon, says there were over 3,000 people in attendance last year and the event is increasing in popularity each year.
“Many Sydneysiders come along to this police event as it is the largest community engagement day outside the Goulburn Academy Open Day,” Det Supt Lennon said.
“It is so very important for police and community meeting and working together, bonding for the harmony of our varied community,” he said.
The event – now in its seventh year – features a variety of police displays including Aviation Support Branch, Counter Terrorism and Special Tactics Unit, Scientific & Crime Scene, Marine Area Command, Bike Unit, Public Order & Riot Squad, Highway Patrol, Dog Unit and Mounted Police.
Other services including the State Emergency Service, NSW Fire & Rescue and Australian Defence Forces will be present, along with community group stalls, plus TAFE and university educators.
There will also be food vendors, show bags and live entertainment.
Detective Superintendent Peter Lennon will be available to speak to the media. All media request are to go through Police Media Unit on 02 8263 6100 or via email on email@example.com
