Man charged over alleged theft of firearms - Broken Hill

A man has been charged after firearms and motorcycles were stolen from a property near Broken Hill earlier this year.
Between Tuesday 6 June and Thursday 8 June 2017, a property approximately 35km south of Broken Hill was broken into.
It’s alleged nine firearms, along with motorbikes, tools, farm equipment and jewellery were stolen.
Police were notified and officers from Barrier Local Area Command have been investigating the incident.
Following investigations, including forensic inquiries, a 48-year-old man was arrested at Broken Hill earlier today (Thursday 12 October 2017).
The man was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal in company.
He is due to appear at Broken Hill Local Court on 31 October 2017.
Inquiries into the whereabouts of the firearms are continuing.
