Man injured in truck and car crash - Tomerong

A man has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a truck and car crash in the Shoalhaven region this morning.
About 9.35am (Tuesday 12 September 2017), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Princes Highway and Turpentine Road, Tomerong, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a Mack truck travelling east on Turpentine Road, and a Mercedes Benz convertible travelling south on the Princes Highway, crashed at the intersection.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 52-year-old man, was trapped for a short time before being released from the car. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being airlifted to St George Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and the Princes Highway was closed for a number of hours while investigations took place.
