Three youths arrested over violent convenience store robbery – Campbelltown
Saturday, 07 Nov 2009 05:18amPolice in Sydney’s south-west have arrested three teenagers in relation to a violent robbery at a Campbelltown convenience store.
About 12.45am today, a number of youths armed with a hammer and knife entered the Queen Street store and threatened a male employee.
During the incident, a hammer was thrown at the victim’s head causing a wound to his left eye.
The offenders then stole a quantity of cash, confectionary and personal items before fleeing the shop.
Police from Campbelltown Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and were quickly on scene.
Three male youths, one aged 15 and two aged 16, were arrested a short time later in nearby Koshigaya Park.
They’re currently assisting detectives with their inquiries at Campbelltown Police Station.
The injured man is currently receiving treatment in Campbelltown Hospital for an eye injury and suspected fractured skull.
