Police arrest teenager over school damage – Armidale
Saturday, 07 Nov 2009 05:15amA teenager will appear in court today charged over the malicious damage of an Armidale school last month.
On Wednesday 21 October, police attended the school in Dangar Street after receiving reports of damage.
Police discovered more than 50 windows had been destroyed throughout the buildings, causing $13,000 damage.
Following extensive police inquiries, police from New England Local Area Command executed a search warrant on a home in Glenelg Road yesterday (Friday 6 November) and seized a number of items of clothing.
Shortly before 1pm, investigators arrested a 13-year-old local boy at Armidale Police Station.
The teenager was subsequently charged with malicious damage.
He was refused bail and will appear at the Armidale Children’s Court later today.
