Man and woman charged after $80,000 worth of cannabis located – Sutherland
Friday, 06 Nov 2009 11:54amA man and woman have been charged after police seized $80,0000 worth of cannabis plants in Sydney’s south yesterday.
About 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday, 5 November) police attached to the Sutherland Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant on a unit on the Princes Highway at Sutherland.
Police will allege that they seized sixteen hydroponically grown cannabis plants with an estimated potential street value of $80,000 and an amount of cannabis leaf.
A 42-year-old Sutherland man and 41-year-old Sutherland woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Sutherland police station.
The man was charged with cultivate a prohibited plant, while the woman was charged with knowingly take part in the cultivation of a prohibited plant. Both were charged with possess prohibited drug.
Both have been given strict conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 26 November 2009.
