Alleged ‘pseudo runners’ to face court today – Newtown
Wednesday, 04 Nov 2009 05:35amThree alleged ‘pseudo runners’ from South Australia will appear in a Sydney court today after being arrested in Newtown yesterday.
Newtown police officers were on foot patrol in King Street about 1pm when they noticed a man and woman sitting in a car parked in a loading zone.
Police searched the car and allegedly located cannabis, packets of cold and flu tablets, an assortment of personal identification in different names as well as lists of pharmacies, with addresses and directions to reach them.
The pair were placed under arrest and taken to Newtown Police Station.
A second woman was arrested several hours later. Police will allege she was carrying packets of pseudoephedrine tablets, pharmacy receipts and identification in other names.
As a result of further inquiries by police, a search warrant was executed on a hotel at Mascot. Police seized cannabis, white powder, a further 192 pseudoephedrine tablets and further documentation relating to pharmacies and maps.
A man, 40, and two woman, aged 37 and 47, all from South Australia, were each charged with possess prohibited drug, possess precursor intend to use in manufacture, and goods in custody.
They will appear at Newton Local Court today.
