Police appeal for witnesses following robbery at knifepoint – Maroubra

Police have appealed for witnesses following the robbery of a man at knifepoint in Maroubra yesterday (Tuesday 3 November).

A 69-year-old man had been at a hotel on Marine Parade, Maroubra, when he left to walk home to South Coogee about 5.30pm.

He has told police while walking between the hotel and Elphinstone Road, South Coogee, he was approached by three men. The men surrounded him and one produced a 25cm knife.

The armed man demanded property and head butted the older man while he was held by the other men.

The victim was robbed of his wallet, containing cash, as well as his watch and necklace.

The three offenders then ran off.

The man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was treated for a broken nose and swelling to his right cheek.

Police will look at CCTV footage as part of their investigations.

The three men were described to police as being about 183cm tall and wearing grey hooded tops and dark pants.
