Man assaulted - Newtown

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted during a brawl in Sydney’s inner west.
Emergency services were called to King Street, Newtown, just after midnight (Sunday 16 July 2017), following reports of a brawl.
Upon arrival NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a man, believed to be in his 20s, for lacerations to his face and a minor head injury, before taking him to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Officers attached to Newtown Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A short time later, two men, aged in their 20s, were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where they are currently assisting police with their inquiries.
