A man will face court today charged over the alleged sexual and indecent assault of three young girls.

Earlier this month, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad commenced an investigation after reports a man had sexually assaulted three young girls known to him.

Following extensive investigations, a 65-year-old man was arrested at Nowra Police Station about 9am yesterday (Friday 14 July 2017).

The Campbelltown man was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of persons under 16, and eight counts of indecent assault of persons under 16.

Police will allege in court the man, who was known the girls, sexually and indecently assaulted them on separate occasions between February and May this year.

He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court today (Saturday 15 July 2017).

The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
