Firearms and drugs seized during search warrant - SCC Firearms Squad

Police investigating firearm and drug supply have seized two handguns during the search of a home in Sydney’s south-west this morning.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Firearms Squad established Strike Force Kelmscott to investigate the supply of firearm and drug offences in Sydney’s south-west.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Granville Street, Smithfield, about 8am today (Thursday 13 July 2017).
During the search, police located a silver revolver .357 Magnum Colt with black handle and ammunition inside a compartment on a jet ski, a loaded Luger semi automatic firearm, with attached magazine; and resealable plastic bags containing white powder.
The items were seized for forensic examination.
A resident of the home – a 36-year-old man – assisted police with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
