Police investigate after man shot - Peakhurst

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Peakhurst overnight.

Shortly after 8pm today (Wednesday 12 July 2017), emergency services were called to a home in Johnstone Street, following reports of a public place shooting.

Officers from St George Local Area Command attended and found a 34-year-old man in the driveway, with several gunshot wounds.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A second man, aged 35, was treated for non-life threatening injuries after being assaulted and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

Police have been told two masked men were last seen running towards Evans Street.
