Man charged over North Bondi assault

Police investigating a serious assault at North Bondi in February have charged a man in relation to the incident.

Shortly after 1pm on Thursday 16 February 2017 police and emergency services were called to Bidigal Reserve, North Bondi following reports of an affray.

A 33-year-old man sustained a number of lacerations to his head, and abrasions to his body.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by officers from the Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command as part of Strike Force Wyndrow.

At 7.30am today (Wednesday, 12 July 2017) investigators arrested a 32-year-old man at Waverley Police Station.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and use offensive weapon in company with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man who was refused bail appeared at Waverley Local Court today where he was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday 19 September 2017.

Investigators continue with their inquiries into the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
