Man charged with aggravated break and enter - East Albury

A man will appear in court today charged over a break and enter at East Albury where a man’s finger was almost severed.

Police have been told about 1am on Monday (10 July 2017), a man was at his home in Keene Street, when three men, allegedly armed with a rifle, machete and baseball bat, broke in.

The armed men allegedly assaulted him, resulting in a number of injuries, including his left pinky finger being almost severed.

The men then left the home and police from Albury Local Area Command were notified.

As a result of inquiries, yesterday (Tuesday 11 July 2017), detectives seized a car that is currently undergoing forensic examination.

Within the vehicle was a firearm, alleged to have been used during the break-in.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with break and enter in circumstances of special aggravation. He is due to appear before Albury Local Court today (Wednesday 12 July 2017).

Investigations continue.
