About 1.10pm (Friday 16 June 2017), a Lexus RCF was turning from George Street into Bathurst Street when it allegedly struck a parked concrete pumping truck at high speed.

The 43-year-old driver of the car suffered a broken wrist and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

Traffic was significantly impacted until the truck, which was not driveable after the crash, could be moved.

Earlier today (Saturday 17 June 2017), the driver of the car was released from hospital and placed under arrest.

He was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, resident three months not obtain a licence, and licence expired.

The Korean national was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 5 July 2017.
