Two charged after police pursuit - Nowra

Police have charged two men after a police pursuit in Nowra overnight.
Just after 11pm (Friday 16 June 2017), officers attached to Shoalhaven Local Area Command were patrolling Clipper Road, East Nowra, when they observed a stolen Volvo station wagon.
When the vehicle failed to stop for police, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued through the Worrigee area, before the vehicle stopped on Bowerbird Avenue, Twin Waters.
Two men ran from the vehicle, with police pursuing on foot.
One of the men was sighted on the roof of a home on Bowerbird Avenue. After a short time, the 21-year-old man came down without incident and was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station.
A 23-year-old man was arrested with the assistance of the dog unit a short distance from the scene and taken to Nowra Police Station.
The 23-year-old was charged with police pursuit – not stop (Skye’s Law), drive motor vehicle without consent, enter enclosed lands, drive motor vehicle while disqualified, goods in custody and resist arrest.
The 21-year-old man was charged with resist arrest, goods in custody, enter enclosed lands, carried in conveyance without permission and eight other offences relating to domestic violence, assault and warrants.
Both men were refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court today (Saturday 17 June 2017).
