Police call for witnesses to brawl - Newcastle

Police from Newcastle City Local Area Command are appealing for assistance following a brawl at a bowling club in Merewether earlier this month.

On Saturday 3 June 2017, two separate groups of men were drinking in the outdoor area of the Kilgour Avenue club when an argument started.

The argument quickly escalated to a physical altercation between a large number of patrons resulting in numerous non life-threatening injuries.

Police were called and an investigation was commenced.

To date, two men, aged 27 and 22, have been charged with affray and will appear in Newcastle Local Court 29 June 2017.

Inquiries into the melee continue and detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist.
