Woman charged over pursuit - Fairfield

A woman has been charged over a police pursuit in Fairfield this morning.
About 5.15am (Monday 12 June 2017), officers from Fairfield Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a stolen Mitsubishi Lancer travelling along Nelson Street.
Attempts to stop the vehicle failed and a pursuit was initiated.
The driver, a 22-year-old woman, attempted to turn left onto Gordon Street, and lost control before veering onto the footpath hitting a bin, two parked cars and a letterbox.
A short foot pursuit ensued and the driver apprehended.
She was taken to Fairfield Police Station where she was charged with police pursuit (Skye’s Law), drive conveyance taken without consent of the owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive at speed, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, not give particulars to owner of damaged property, refuse to produce Australian drivers licence, not stop at stop line at red arrow and refuse or fail to submit to breath test.
She was refused bail to appear via audio video link at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 12 June 2017).
