Three charged after police assaulted - Guildford

Three men have been charged after police were assaulted in Sydney’s west.

About 4.45pm (Saturday 10 June 2017), police from Rosehill Traffic and Highway Patrol were patrolling Excelsior Street, Guildford, when they came across a male blocking the street.

Officers spoke to 17-year-old teenager, who allegedly became aggressive. Police will allege another three men approached them and became aggressive, before a crowd surrounded them.

One man allegedly armed himself with a metal bollard with police using OC spray to disperse the crowd.

Officers called for further assistance, and numerous police resources attended.

Three men and the teenage boy were arrested following a short altercation and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with obstruct traffic, resist arrest and intimidate police. He will be dealt with under the young offenders act.

Two men, aged 22 and 41, were charged affray, resist police, hinder police, assault police and intimidate police.

Both men were granted conditional bail and are due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday 24 July 2017.
