Man arrested over stabbing - Redfern

A man has been arrested after a stabbing at Redfern tonight.

Just after 11pm (Friday 9 June 2017, a 49-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen at a unit in Elizabeth Street, Redfern.

Officers from Redfern Local Area Command attended and arrested a 62-year-old man.

The younger man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.

The older man was taken to Redfern Police Station where is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

A crime scene has been established.

Initial inquiries suggest the men are known to each other.
