Police investigate taxi robbery - Ultimo

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery of a taxi driver in Ultimo.

About 10pm (Wednesday 7 June 2017), a taxi driver, aged 37, stopped at the intersection of Wattle Street and Kelly Street, Ultimo, and picked up a man.

The man requested to be driven to Mountain Street, Ultimo.

Upon arriving, the unknown man, produced a knife and allegedly threatened the driver demanding money.

The taxi driver complied and the man fled on foot with a sum of cash.

Officers attached to Sydney City Local Area Command have launched an investigation and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build and about 183cm tall. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, white shorts and sneakers.
