Third man charged over murder of Qin Wu - SCC Homicide Squad

A third man has been charged over the alleged murder of a man in Sydney's south west earlier this year.

About 11pm on Wednesday 1 February 2017, police and emergency services attended a house on Kennedy Street, Guildford, following reports a man had been shot.

Despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.

He was formally identified as 37-year-old Chinese National, Qin Wu.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, with the assistance of Rosehill Local Area Command, established Strike Force Buttle to investigate Mr Wu’s death.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives, arrested and charged two men, aged 35 and 45, on Monday (5 June 2017). They remain before the courts.

As a result of further inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested Parramatta Police Station about 9.40am today (Wednesday 7 June 2017).

He was charged with murder and shoot with intent murder.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court today, where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Tuesday 1 August 2017.

Investigations under Strike Force Buttle are continuing.
