Man charged after allegedly breaking into home following pursuit - Lake Macquarie

A man will face court tomorrow on several charges following an incident in Lake Macquarie.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were called to a home on Martha Street, Caves Beach, just before 1.30pm today (Monday 5 June 2017), following reports a man had been stabbed during an argument.

Upon arrival police were told two men became involved in a verbal argument, when one of the men received a cut to his hand. A 31-year-old man then fled the house in a vehicle.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however a pursuit was initiated. A short time later, the pursuit was terminated in Turea Street, Pelican, when the man allegedly ran from the car.

Police located the man inside a house on Piriwal Street, Pelican about 2pm, where he was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station.

The man was charged with police pursuit-not stop-drive recklessly, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, aggravated enter dwelling and three counts of enter enclosed lands without lawful excuse,

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Toronto Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 6 June 2017).
