Child hit by car outside school - Miller

A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school in Sydney’s south west this morning.

Emergency services were called to Shropshire Street about 8.50am (Monday 5 June 2017), after a nine-year-old boy was hit by a Toyota Hi-ace while travelling at low speed.

The child was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and transported to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

The driver, a 70-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers from Green Valley Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are reminding motorists and students to take extra care around buses and school zones.
