Drivers seriously injured in head-on crash at Bringelly

Two truck drivers were seriously injured after a crash on the Northern Road at Bringelly today.

About 1am (Monday 5 June 2017), two semi-trailers, one carrying vegetables and one empty, collided head-on, north of the intersection with Peter Brock Drive.

Both drivers were trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by rescue crews. The 47-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious leg injuries.

The other driver, a 57-year-old man, has been taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious head injuries.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are continuing their inquiries into the events leading up to the crash.
