Man charged after allegedly stealing motorcycle - Surry Hills

Police have charged a man after an incident in Surry Hills early this morning.
About 4am (Saturday 3 June 2017), police were called to Mary Street, Surry Hills, after reports a man was acting suspiciously.
Police were told a man was allegedly pushing a white Yamaha motorcycle along Mary Street.
Officers attached to Surry Hills Local Area Command approached a man at the intersection of Elizabeth and Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, to speak with him.
As they spoke with the man, police saw an object in his hand.
The man allegedly attempted to run from police; however, was tasered and arrested without further incident.
A 30-year-old man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics as a precaution.
He was charged with steal motor vehicle and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 3 June 2017).
