Police release image of man following stealing - Nowra

Police are appealing for the assistance of the public to help identify a man who may be able to assist police with inquiries into a stealing at Nowra yesterday

Just after 1pm (Friday 2 June 2017), a 77-year-old woman was in a supermarket car park in East Street when she has fallen while attempting to stop her trolley from rolling away. At the time the ladies handbag was strung over the rear of the trolley.

A number of people assisted the woman and during this time it was noticed her handbag was missing from the trolley.

Police attended and an investigation commenced, including an examination of CCTV footage.

Police have released images of a man they are hoping may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being about 40 to 45 old, medium complexion, thin build, fine short brown hair with facial hair. He has tattoos on his arms and was wearing a black and orange coloured football jersey with the words “Culture Health” on the front and “I’ve made water my drink” on the back.

The woman sustained a fractured arm during the fall.

Investigations are continuing.
