Firearms stolen - Bombowlee

Police are investigating after a number of firearms were stolen from a farmhouse near Tumut.

About 10am on Friday 26 May 2017, the owner of a property in Bombowlee Avenue, Bombowlee left his house and returned on Thursday 1 June 2017.

The man noticed that someone had entered his house and accessed two gun safes forcing them open.

A total of 11 firearms and ammunition were taken. These included seven .22 calibre rifles, a 303 rifle, a two 12 gauge shot guns.

A crime scene was established and forensic specialists attended.

Investigations are continuing.
