Man dies, woman injured in crash near Port Macquarie

A man has died and a woman is injured after a fatal single-vehicle crash near Port Macquarie this morning.
About 8.30am (Monday 10 July 2017), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, about 20km south of the Port Macquarie turnoff, after reports a vehicle left the road and collided with a tree and rolled.
The driver, a woman believed to be aged in her 30’s, was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital in a stable condition. She will undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.
Her passenger, a man believed to be aged in his 30’s, died at the scene.
Police from Port Macquarie Local Area Command established a crime scene.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are at the crash site and will investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
