Woman dies after being hit by car at Lane Cove

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Sydney’s north-west this evening.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, was struck as she crossed northbound lanes of Lane Cove Road at Ryde, about 7.10pm (Friday 7 July 2017).

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, suffering multiple injuries; she died a short time later.

The driver of the car, a man believed to be aged in his 70s, stopped and rendered assistance. He has been taken for mandatory testing.
