Youths charged after train damaged at Kiama

Four youths have been charged after a train was damaged in the Illawarra region early this morning.
Just after 3.30am today (Tuesday 4 July 2017), police will allege the male youths performed extensive graffiti damage to a northbound train stopped at Kiama Railway Station.
An 18-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at Shellharbour Junction Station just after 4am.
A car was searched and spray cans, mobile phones and clothing were seized.
They were taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where the two 18-year-old men and 21-year-old man were charged with go onto or into or remain on or in running lines, intentionally mark premises without consent and possessing graffiti implements.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with go onto or into or remain on or in running lines, intentionally mark premises without consent and person under 18 years possessing a spray can.
The two 18-year-old men were granted conditional bail to appear before Kiama Local Court on Monday 4 September 2017.
The 17-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 22 August 2017.
The 21-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Tuesday 4 July 2017).
