Inquiries continue after Toronto crash

One person sustained minor injuries and two horses died after a collision at Toronto, in the NSW Hunter Region.

Shortly before 7.00pm last night (Wednesday, June 28, 2017) three horses escaped from a property near the intersection of Wangi Road and Onslow Road

A vehicle travelling south along Wangi Road was unable to avoid two of the animals and collided with the horses, killing two of them.

The driver, an 83-year-old man, from Wangi sustained minor injuries and his female passenger was not hurt in the crash. Their vehicle was extensively damaged.

The third horse continued running on Wangi Road until it was struck by a second vehicle, driven by a 38 year-old Arcadia Vale man. After being hit, the horse ran into nearby bush. It was later found and treated for its injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle not injured.
