Teen charged following pursuit and crash - Lansvale

A teenager has been charged after a police pursuit in Lansvale this morning where the vehicle allegedly failed to stop and crashed into a wall.

About 3am (Wednesday 28 June 2017), officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command attempted to pull over a Toyota Kluger on the Hume Highway, Lansvale after checks revealed it was stolen.

It’s alleged the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated as the vehicle turned onto the Hume Highway from Cutler Road.

Shortly after the pursuit commenced, the vehicle crashed into a retaining wall while turning off the Hume Highway into Willowbank Crescent.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, at the scene. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he underwent treatment for a broken wrist.

Upon release he was taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with be carried in conveyance without consent of owner and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court tomorrow (Thursday 29 June 2017).

Officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command are still looking for the three other occupants travelling in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
