Driver arrested, charged following Holbrook police pursuit - THWP

Police have arrested and charged a man after he was involved in a pursuit in southern NSW.

About 11.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 June 2017), officers from Albury Traffic and Highway Patrol received reports of a vehicle being driven erratically on the Hume Highway, Holbrook.

Officers identified the vehicle as a black Honda CR-V with a Victorian plates and attempted to stop it. The driver allegedly failed to stop and drove off.

Officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen and initiated a pursuit which ended after the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed in Batlow.

The driver was extracted from the vehicle uninjured and was arrested and taken to Tumut Police Station.

He was charged with dangerous driving engage in police pursuit (Skye’s Law), unlicensed driver, low range PCA and three counts of possess property stolen outside NSW.

He has been refused bail and will appear at Wagga Local Court today (Wednesday 28 June 2017).
