Truck driver seriously injured - Pennant Hills

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident at Wahroonga this morning where a man was seriously injured, after he was run over by his own truck.

Shortly before 5am today (Tuesday 27 June 2017) a man in his 60s, stopped his semi trailer on the side of the northbound lanes of the M1 motorway, at Wahroonga.

Police from Kuring gai Local Area Command have been told the man had experienced some issues with the brakes of his truck.

The man alighted from his vehicle and commenced an inspection of the truck.

It appears that during the inspection the semi has rolled over the man’s legs causing critical injuries.

Emergency services attended, the man was treated and conveyed to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Police continue with their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the matter and have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Traffic in the north bound lanes was disrupted for several hours as the rescue operation was undertaken.
