Driver arrested, charged following crash - T&HWP

A driver has been arrested and charged following a crash in western Sydney which damaged an unattended car.

Around 1.10pm yesterday (Sunday 25 June 2016), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended Bridge Street, Granville where a car had crashed into a parked vehicle before flipping onto its side.

Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and a search of his belongings and car revealed a knife, two glass water pipes, three plastic bags containing a crystal substance similar to methyl amphetamine and an aluminium baseball bat.

The 27-year-old man, holder of a P2 driver’s licence, had been disqualified from driving until 2023 and was on conditional bail not to occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, negligent driving, not give particulars to owner of damaged property, custody of knife in public place, custody of offensive implement in a public place, possess prohibited drug X2, and breach of bail.

He was bail refused to appear at Parramatta Local Court today, Monday 26 June 2017.
