Two arrested after brawl - St Peters

A man and a woman have been arrested following an assault in Sydney’s inner west this afternoon.

About 4.20pm today (Saturday 24 June 2017), emergency services were called to a park at St Peters following reports of a brawl.

Officers from Newtown Local Area Command attended and found two women had allegedly been assaulted.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated a woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, for shock. She was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a precaution.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested.

A 40-year-old man, who is alleged to have been driving a vehicle, returned a positive roadside breath test and was also arrested.

Both were taken to Newtown Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.
