Child approach - Swansea

Police are appealing for public assistance after a child approach in the Lake Macquarie region.

Between 9am and 9.20am today (Thursday 1 June 2017), a 12-year-old boy was outside a high school on Park Avenue, Swansea, when a vehicle stopped in front of him.

The male driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, engaged the child in conversation which caused the boy to feel uncomfortable.

The boy reported the incident to the school and police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command commenced inquiries.

The man has been described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid to late 40s, short hair, a close cropped beard, with an Australian accent.

The car has been described as a four wheel drive, possibly an 80s model Toyota Landcruiser or Mitsubishi Pajero, brown or burgundy coloured, with roof racks, a bull bar, and chrome rims.
