Fatal crash - Hawkesbury Heights

Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Hawkesbury Heights today.

Shortly after 1.30am (Thursday 1 June 2017), emergency services were called to Hawkesbury Road, Hawkesbury Heights, following reports of a car on fire, after it left the roadway and hit a tree.

The 36-year-old driver and sole occupant, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, but later died.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
