Hydro house found after fire - Wakeley

Police have uncovered a hydroponic cannabis set up following a house fire in Wakeley overnight.

About 12:55am (Wednesday 21 May 2017), emergency services were called to a home on Winburndale Road, following reports of a fire.

Fire & Rescue NSW attended and forced entry to the home before extinguishing the blaze.

Officers located a hydroponic setup and notified police.

Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A search of the home, located an elaborate hydroponic set up containing mature cannabis plants and associated equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis in four rooms.

At this stage, inquires into the matter are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to contact Fairfield Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
