Police investigate unit fire - Mount Druitt

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a unit fire in Mount Druitt.

About 1.45am (Tuesday 30 May 2017) police and Fire & Rescue NSW officers were called to a block of apartments on Beams Avenue following reports of a fire.

On arrival officers located one of the apartments well alight.

The building was evacuated as Fire & Rescue officers worked to extinguish the blaze.

Only one of the apartments sustained damage.

There were no reported injuries due to the fire; however a man and a woman sustained minor injuries as a result of being forcibly removed from their apartment that was well alight.

They were both taken to hospital for treatment superficial injuries.

A crime scene has been established while officers piece together how the fire started.
