Police appeal for witnesses after assault – Bourke
Wednesday, 04 Nov 2009 02:47pmPolice from the Darling River Local Area Command are appealing for witnesses to an incident overnight where a woman was assaulted.
About 12.45am on Wednesday 4th November a 51-year-old woman startled a group of men allegedly breaking into a car.
The vehicle was parked in the rear yard of a Mertin Street premises at the time of the incident.
Police have been told the men then attacked the woman causing serious head and eye injuries.
The woman was taken to Bourke Hospital and later flown to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney for further treatment to her injuries.
Police are seeking information from members of the community that may be able to assist with the investigation.
