Man escapes police custody - Miranda

Inquiries are continuing after a man escaped from police custody at Miranda overnight.

About 8.30pm (Sunday 16 July 2017), police attended Kitchener Place, Caringbah in response to a break and enter occurring.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Bathurst man following a short struggle and he was taken to Miranda Police Station to assist with inquiries into a matter.

While at the police station the man has managed to escape from the police station.

A search of the area was unable to locate the man and inquiries are continuing.

Kyran Hubert John Naden is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 177cm tall, of thin build with brown hair and eyes. When he was last seen the man was wearing a dark green tracksuit top and faded blue jeans.

An internal investigation is being conducted into the events leading up to the man's escape.
