A man has been charged following an alleged road rage incident on the M4 Motorway at Greystanes yesterday.

About 2pm (Friday 16 June 2017), a man was driving his Honda Jazz sedan west along the M4 near Blacktown when he became aware of a truck and trailer allegedly travelling very close behind him.

The truck continued to travel behind the sedan allegedly sounding the horn.

Police have been told the truck changed lanes driving parallel to the sedan. The truck driver allegedly leaned out of the window and threw an object at the windscreen causing it to fracture. The truck changed lanes in front of the car and the dog trailer collided with the sedan.

The car was forced into the centre concrete dividing barrier where it came to a stop and the truck continued west on the M4.

The driver of the car was not injured; however, the vehicle was heavily damaged.

Police commenced an investigation and a 33-year-old Auburn man was spoken to by police.

The heavy vehicle was examined by RMS inspectors where a number of defects were detected and the vehicle speed limiter was deemed to be non compliant.

The man was issued with a future court attendance notice for malicious damage, menacing driving, fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury and not give particulars to other driver.

He is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Monday 31 July 2017.
