A man will face court today after being charged by police over a spate of home break-ins in the inner city and inner west earlier this year.
About 11:05pm yesterday (Thursday 18 May 2017), officers attached to the Police Transport Command approached a man with a bicycle travelling on a train between Ingleburn and Macquarie Fields Railway Stations.
The man was unable to produce a valid ticket or identification.
The man was arrested and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.
During a search, police allegedly located a small resealable bag containing an amount of methamphetamine.
Following inquiries, police will allege the man committed a number of break-ins at commercial and retail premises within the Sydney City and Leichhardt areas between March and May 2017.
The 39-year-old man was charged with seven counts of break, enter house and steal, goods in custody suspected being stolen, and possess prohibited drug.
He appeared at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday 19 May 2017) and was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Wednesday 31 May 2017.
