Launch of new School Liaison Police

Message from the Commissioner

The School Liaison Police (SLP) Program is an initiative designed to improve NSW Police relationships between high school children and reduce the incidence of their involvement in crime, as either victims or offenders.

School Liaison Police will, in many ways, be the public face of the NSW Police in NSW high schools. As such they will be well placed to positively influence the attitudes and behaviour of our youth.

The success of this program in the months and year ahead will rest in the professionalism and enthusiasm of these officers in building networks with the community.

Their work is intended to compliment and support the work of Youth Liaison Officers and Youth Program Officers from Police and Community Youth Clubs within Local Area Commands.

I encourage all NSW Police and our colleagues in the community to support this very important initiative.
