NEW Reapplication Process
|
On 1 October 2008 the Firearms Regulation 2006 was amended to waiver the 28 day waiting period for a licence reapplication where there is no change to the licence on reapplication. This was the first phase in streamlining the reapplication process. The second phase, commencing in February 2009, will introduce a new licence reapplication form and a simplified application process. You will no longer be required to produce supporting documentation for your genuine reasons. However, as a licence holder, you are expected maintain the requirements to support your genuine reasons. The new reapplication form will be pre-printed with your name, residential address, safe storage address (where applicable), fee exemption status and your existing genuine reasons and categories.
