Criminal Records SectionLevel B3 NSW Police Headquarters Mailing address: Welcome to the NSW Police Force Criminal Records Section, home page. The Criminal Records Section (CRS) forms part of the Forensic Services Group, Identification Services Branch and is responsible for the collection, integrity and release of criminal record information in NSW. This site has been developed to provide information and assistance to members of the public on criminal record legislation and NSW Police Force policy on accessing and disputing criminal records. Also included within the site is information on the National Criminal History Record Checking service. This national initiative provides NSW residents aged 16 years and above an opportunity to apply for a National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) for visa, adoption, paid employment and some occupational licensing purposes. Additionally, NSW Police now provide National Criminal History Record Check for volunteers working in Commonwealth-supported aged care facilities, in line with new Commonwealth Government regulations in force from 1 September 2007. Application forms, comprehensive information sheets and responses to frequently asked questions (FAQ's), explaining NCHRC processes, are available within the site. The CRS is committed to providing a high quality service to operational police and members of the community. To achieve this objective, the CRS welcomes feedback on the contents of this site and the quality of our services at crs@police.nsw.gov.au or by contacting the Information Management Team on (02) 8835 7888. |
